Suryakumar Yadav Named Indian T20 Captain
In a strategic move, Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the captain for the Indian T20 squad for this series, succeeding Hardik Pandya. Yadav, a two-time ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year, will lead a strong team that includes returning players Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Siraj, all of whom missed the Zimbabwe series.
Sri Lanka’s New Captain and Squad Changes
Sri Lanka has announced Charith Asalanka as their new captain, taking over from Wanindu Hasaranga after the T20 World Cup. Additionally, wicket-keeper Dinesh Chandimal will make his T20I comeback since February 2022.
